Located in the north-west of NSW, Gunnedah is a hub for agriculture. From its beginnings in 1919, the Gunnedah Regional Saleyards has grown to become one of the largest stock selling centres in NSW. Due to ageing facilities, demand for higher holding capacities and modern technology needs, Gunnedah Regional Saleyards required an upgrade.

The redevelopment was funded by a $3mn loan from TCorp to Gunnedah Shire Council and a contribution of nearly $24mn from the NSW Government.

Key upgrades included:

The project enables Gunnedah to expand its presence in the beef industry and boost global sales of beef by opening up access to new online markets. The upgrades support up to 60 local jobs, enhance operational efficiency, animal welfare and sustainability. The modernised Gunnedah Regional Saleyards celebrated its official opening in June 2025.

In FY25, Gunnedah Regional Saleyards generated more than $150mn in value for the beef supply chain from sales of more than 100,000 head of cattle. The annual economic value created for NSW is more than $200mn.

Client feedback

“The redeveloped Gunnedah Regionals Saleyards was a highly anticipated project that has been a game-changer for the region.

With the support of TCorp, this upgrade ensures we meet the demands of this important industry and help to build the region as a powerhouse among beef-selling facilities in NSW and beyond.”
